Lela Jaacks was born in Cairns, Australia, and living her early childhood in the remote lands of Northern Queensland embedded in her a deep love of plants and the beauty of natural forms as she was surrounded by a tropical wilderness which nourished her creativity. Lela has a deep understanding of diverse worlds that exist in nature which are the genesis of her work.
Lela Jaacks is a graduate from Rhode Island School of Design, receiving a BFA in sculpture. After managing an artist studio in Rhode Island, she now resides in Brownsville, Vermont with her husband and three children. Her work continues to explore this joyful reflection of nature in art form.
